More than 300 leading manufacturers of entertainment and theatrical equipment set up thousands of square feet to showcase the latest innovations in design and technology. You can find lighting, sound, rigging, automation, costume, makeup and software technologies all in one place. Manufacturers are looking to meet distributors and consultants that are working to create amazing productions as well as get their equipment out in the world. They also want to meet with the youth of the industry who will be the designers of the future. They want to create relationships and brand recognition for a lifetime.
With 1/3 of the USITT population in the age range of 18-30, USITT is the best event in the industry to meet the up and coming talent. More than 80 universities and world class production companies have identified that and come to showcase the opportunities available with them. If you’re a student, you can see what undergraduate and graduate programs best fit you in one place. If you’re graduating or in your early career stages, you can meet with theatres and production companies from all over the country with jobs that need filling immediately.
At the Stage Expo, there are more opportunities to connect with your peers than anywhere else in the industry. As a student or someone early in your career, you’ll be able to meet and chat with experts you’ve read about in text books. As a manufacturer you’ll be able to meet with customers and clients of all varieties and sizes. USITT offers many events like the International Reception, regional breakfasts, Opening Night and VIP Cocktails for our attendees to connect. There are a number of mentorship programs allowing veterans who want to give back their skills and knowledge to the next generation.
Did you know that there are now two stages on the Stage Expo floor offering conference sessions, manufacturer trainings and demos? Speaking of demos; each day of the Stage Expo you’ll find over a dozen 75-90 minute training sessions on lighting and audio consoles. In 2018, you’ll find a props lab where you can get your hands dirty with the best scenic designers and prop masters in the business.
