The Science of Happiness: Daniel Lerner

Learn the hidden habits of elite performers who use positive psychology to achieve excellence and success, from NYU professor and U Thrive author Daniel Lerner, at the Early Career Honors session.

Daniel Lerner is a faculty member at New York University and part of the teaching staff at the University of Pennsylvania.  He integrates storytelling, humor, and science, helping students and executives apply his teachings into their lives with immediate benefit. 





The Distinguished Achievement Awards honor an individual who has established a meritorious career record in a specific field of expertise in any area of design or technology in the performing arts or entertainment industry.


Winners will converse Friday morning and star in individual sessions highlighting their achievements



Kick off USITT with a celebration!  Opening night is a gathering of all attendees to network and be entertained.  In 2018, USITT will be attempting to utilize the outdoor stage for a first ever Opening Night under the stars.  The night will feature new product demos from exhibiting companies as well as entertainment from world class productions.  And of course, the swag will still be part of the event!  Make sure to add this to your evening plans. 



Wendall K. Harrington, the “godmother of projection” and head of the MFA program in Projection Design at the Yale School of Drama is keynote speaker for this year’s Conference & Stage Expo.

Wendall’s career has embraced diverse disciplines including theatre, publishing and multi-image/video design and production. She is well known for her work in Projection design and has been the recipient of numerous theatrical awards, including the Drama Desk Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award, the American Theatre Wing Award, the TCI Award for Technical Achievement, the Obie Award for Sustained Excellence of Projections, and was a USITT Distinguished Achievement Award winner in 2015.
